New York Driver Responsibility Assessment

The New York Department of Motor Vehicles issues fines called "Driver Responsibility Assessments." These assessment occur for alcohol related convictions and for accruing  6 points or more in any 18 month period. New York DMV Approved Courses to Reduce Points and Insurance Premiums

If you have points on your driving license or would like the to reduce your car insurance premiums, the New York DMV has a "Point and Insurance Reduction Program" (PIRP).  This program includes approved courses offered by private companies called "course  sponsors."
