Buffalo City Traffic Violations Bureau (TVB) Closing is Good News for Drivers

Buffalo TVB Closes July 1, 2015

On July 1, 2015, the Buffalo Traffic Violations Bureau ceased handling traffic cases for the traffic tickets issued in the City of Buffalo. Instead, the tickets will be handled by the newly formed Buffalo Traffic Violations Agency located in Buffalo City Hall. See NY DMV announcement.

Good News for Drivers: No More "Plea or Try" in Buffalo

Buffalo’s move away from the TVB system gives drivers ticketed in Buffalo the same opportunity for plea bargaining that drivers have when ticketed in most other parts of the state. New York City and Rochester still have the TVB system that forces drivers to either plead guilty or have a trial but does not offer any reductions via plea bargaining.

Plea Bargaining and Reductions of Buffalo Traffic Tickets

The Buffalo Traffic Violations Agency judges will have the same authority to accept plea bargains as the city, town, and village court judges around the state. This is a big change for drivers ticketed in the City of Buffalo who now may seek a reduction of the charges that they face. See Buffalo News; Channel 4 News.

For the City of Buffalo, the move to the local adjudication of traffic tickets could mean as much as $2,000,000 in annual revenue.

As traffic defense attorneys, we are pleased that the City of Buffalo has decided to make this move. We invite your calls and emails about your traffic tickets issued in the City of Buffalo.

Traffic Lawyer Reviews

Thank you Esq. Bruffett!

Attorney David Bruffett and his very professional team helped me handled my speeding ticket (55mph in a 40mph zone) in Town of Manlius. He negotiated a reduction of my 4 point ticket to a 0 point, and a $77+63 fine/fee. I am very thankful for Attorney Bruffett and his team's very professional, courteous, in time correspondences and services. Will recommend him and the firm to anyone who may need their services.

Seth is a good lawyer

Seth and his team helped me out with a speeding ticket I got in Cortland. He was professional and courteous. I spoke with him with-in a hour of leaving a message with his office. All future correspondence was via email, but he was available by phone. I worked with one of his staff members as well. My 31 mph over limit (6 pts) was reduced to non-speeding 2 pts fine. I highly recommend Seth and the Azria Law Firm.

Yelp Review

I am very pleased with the outcome of my case. I contacted Ralph Habib from the Azria & Bruffett group to represent me in my defense in connection with a speeding ticket. I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Habib and found him to be professional and diligent in this area of law. I felt his background and experience would undoubtedly be the right choice. Shannon Liparulo the Paralegal was great at keeping me informed as to the status and sharing the outcome of the case with me. She always answered and returned my calls and emails. I honestly recommend Mr. Ralph Habib and the team from Azria & Bruffett! Thank you Mr. Habib and Shannon. From Mel. S.
